In 2023, MABE went back to in-person and reinstating the pre-conference school visits in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. A record-breaking total of 13 schools opened their door to more than 160 visitors.

MABE's Pre-Conference Virtual Roundtable is an advocacy event for invited guests including district leaders, state education agencies, legislators, higher education institutions, and community organizations from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine.
This year, the theme was "Equity and Implications of the Science of Reading on Dual Language Programs" with Keynote Speaker Dr. Patrick Proctor from Boston College, and more than 130 educators from the region and nation registered.
