    DLBE STARTING STRONG:
    NAVIGATING NEW SCHOOL YEAR TENSIONS

    WHOEveryone is invited to this free introduction to our 2026-27 DLBE Networks. This meeting is a kick-off to our Networks if you are definitely joining one, or as a trial if you're unsure you want to join us. For DLBE educators at any experience level, including but not limited to the audience of our Networks: Leaders, TeachersRed de lectoescritura para maestrasCoaches, and Special Educators

    WHAT: Conversations will cover start of school tensions around the topics of curriculum, special education, partner teaching, scheduling, translanguaging, and family engagement.

      PARA QUIÉN: Para maestros de programas de lenguaje dual y educación bilingüe (DLBE, por sus siglas en inglés). This Network will be conducted entirely in Spanish – if this does not meet your needs, you are invited to join our Teacher Network

      LEADER NETWORK

      ⭐ RSVP HERE ⭐ You're invited to our FREE Network kick-off - “DLBE Starting Strong: Navigating New School Year Tensions” (Tuesday, September 22, 4-5pm).

      WHO: For DLBE program, school, and district leaders and administrators, such as principals, assistant principals, district leaders, and department heads.


      WHAT: Participants will determine discussion topics to explore challenges and share solutions

      Alignments: National Dual Language Education Teacher Preparation Standards (NDLETPS) and Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education.


      WHEN: Six Virtual Meetings | Wednesdays, 9-10:30apm (90 minutes) | October 7, 2026; November 4, 2026; December 2, 2026; January 6, 2027; February 3, 2025; March 3, 2027 

      • The expectation is for participants to attend all sessions in the Network.
      • Registration closes Wednesday, September 30. (Registrations after this date will include a late registration fee.)

      WHO: For DLBE special educators (e.g. support staff, teachers, and leaders who support bilingual special education students) and staff involved in the assessment process for bilingual students who are struggling or are receiving special education services (e.g. social workers, guidance counselors, coaches).

      • Learning From Biliteracy Trajectories in MTSS
      • Scaffolding for Language and Content with Dually Identified Students
      • Developing IEPs for Dually Identified Students

      • Varied DLBE Programs/Schools in MA, CT, & RI
      Register

      Your Dual Language Bilingual Education (DLBE) school/program is invited to participate in MABE’s Annual School Visits. School Visits are rewarding and valuable experiences that create the opportunity for educators to observe and learn what DLBE programs look like in practice. Programs and schools at any stage of DLBE implementation are encouraged to open their doors to colleagues. Please sign up by Monday, September 14, 2026.

      Schools interested in serving as hosts for our annual school visits are invited to consider two different formats (can offer both):

      • GENERAL TOUR: Includes a site tour, a Q&A session, and short, informal visits to multiple classrooms. 
      • SPOTLIGHT LESSON DEMONSTRATION: Includes the following:
            → 45-60 minute comprehensive formal classroom visit of a prepared lesson
              → Includes a written lesson plan for observers
                → 20 minute pre- and post-observation conversations with classroom teacher(s) 
                  → Planning and preparation support and coaching from MABE staff at every step
                    → Teacher(s) will be invited to present about their experience at March 2027 MABE Conference
                      → Potential to video record (pending permissions) for future learning


                Available Days: AM and/or PM, Monday-Friday November 2-6 and 16-20, 2026

                Sign-Up Information: You will be asked to complete the days and times your school/program can offer a school visit. Feel free to include multiple dates and times that your school is available. Please complete this section to the best of your knowledge, knowing that we will contact you via email to confirm this information. Your participation is not finalized until it has been confirmed by MABE staff.
